Seminars & Conferences (S & C)

Seminars & Conferences is one of the main areas of ELSA and as proof stands the fact that the first international seminar was organised in less than a year from the foundation of the association. Its main objectives rely in the information of students regarding social, legal, and economical issues, as well as other problems of large interest. The activities through which the department rounds off formal education consist in seminars, conferences, summer schools, and study visits.

Seminars are short events, of one to three days, in which students have the possibility to develop and perfect their knowledge about legal current aspects.

Conferences can take up to seven days, approaching themes with a larger scope. These are discussed in working groups, conclusions being presented at the end to the plenum.

Law summer schools are longer events, to up to 14 days, with national or international participants. The activities consist in classes and workshops on legal subjects.

Study Visits offer ELSA members the possibility to get in contact with another Local Group, in the country or in Europe. They always include institutional visits, getting students acquainted with different legal, social, and educational systems.
