Human Resources (HR)

The second ELSA supporting department, HR, has as a main target the members of the association, since their first day of membership.

HR is directed by 4 ideas:
- recruiting
- training
- motivation
- evaluation

Recruiting is the reason to be of this department, the selection of new members for the association taking place in two sessions, in autumn and spring, among law students at the universities of Bucharest. The applicants fill out a form and take an interview, after which they are selected.

Training new and experienced members is mainly done through trainings. These are held by ELSA trainers, ex-members who, after passing a rigorous instruction (Train The Trainers), have gathered the knowledge and necessary abilities to further instruct other members.

Motivation is probably the most subtle side of HR activity, its main purpose being the increase of the members’ level of involvement. Through events that are dedicated to the members and their getting to know each other, games and parties, HR sets out to increase the members’ cohesion, finally resulting in a better interpersonal communication, as well as in a growth in the efficiency of the association.

Evaluation has its reason in the concept of meritocracy. In order to promote members with real value and importance for the association, a system of constant over viewing of their contribution to the association is implemented and periodically completed by the Board under the supervision of HR.
